The ocean was really pretty today. It was really rough so there were a lot of whitecaps, there were so many waves that it turned the water light blue in some places, and in some places there was a lot of dramatic sea spray when the waves hit the cliffs. The walk I think was more scenic than the Bondi to Coogee walk as well, because the rocky cliffs were more dramatic and it had a less urbanized feel to it. Along the walk we saw some lizards too. It was hardly windy at Coogee, but when we got closer to Maroubra beach we understood why maybe the ocean was so rough, because suddenly there was constant strong wind around Maroubra. We even got a light misting of sea spray at times when we were approaching Maroubra beach, even though the path was far away from the ocean. It was a really pretty day too, not too hot and not too cold.
The route: We met at the Rainbow Walkway in Coogee Beach. We then walked along the path hugging the coast. Around halfway to Maroubra beach, the coastal path ends, so we had to walk along some residential roads for a bit before we found where the coastal path started up again. I have heard that in low tide, rock pools are exposed that you can cross instead of going the road way, but since it was high tide we didn’t have that option. Or maybe in low tide, you just do less of the road way, I’m not sure. It wasn’t immediately obvious when we could rejoin the coastal trail and didn’t need to go on the road anymore, so we asked a local. So in hindsight, looking at other people’s routes to get back to the coastal trail beforehand would have been helpful. We took 2 1/2 hours to go from Coogee beach to Maroubra beach and back again, and that was with stopping several times, and getting takeaway at a cafe near Maroubra beach.

Toilets: Around Coogee and around Maroubra beach, but none in the middle of the route
Water: Bubblers at Coogee beach and Maroubra beach
Driving info: Nobody came that drove, so unfortunately no information for now.

Wheelchair accessibility: Multiple websites said that it was, but actually it wasn’t. There were only stairs in multiple places. Maybe there was another way to go, but on the walk it wasn’t clear that there was a way.
