Snippet

Because a certain rock was blocking an easy route down the Kedumba Creek, before the flooding of the Warragamba, it was decided to blow it out of the way. It befell Ian Ross and I to do the job. The gelly, fuse and detonators were bought at Grace Bros (a permit was not required in those days – 1948) and I set out to hitch up to Katoomba. I got a lift on a motor bike. I have always wondered what he would have thought if he had known what I was carrying. Ian and I were successful in the enterprise but sometime later the area was flooded. Still the area was known for a while by the SBW as the SUBW desecration – they were purists.

We also practised gibberology. Anti-conservation.
